Anyone know if this is a new Zealand flat worm?
A friend has just sent me this photo. I’ve never seen anything like it before.

  Dibbered leeks.
Posted by: Vinny - 24-05-2020, 12:40 PM - Replies (8)

This is an oldie which everyone probably knows but its worth adding in case anyone doesn't. Huh You don't have to do it like this, but I do.

When transplanting seedling  leeks for the table into their final positions use a dibber. Rake area flat and dibber holes at required distance. The deeper you dibber the more white your leeks will have. Leeks don't need to be too big for table use so spacing at 150mm is ample enough..
After dibbering, drop in the leek (some people trim the roots and tops, but I don't bother.)

Once seedling leeks are in dibbered hole, fill hole with water, and that's it. Cool leave the hole open and it will allow the leek to expand as it grows.

Both dogs squaring up to each other on the grass. Smile

Kato needs to be permanetly on a lead or else he bolts whereas Amber wanders but is easily retrieved.

  Walking onions

Thought you might like to see the progression of my walking onions over the past few weeks, because they are just such fun Smile

They will do better in a nice big bed veg bed where they can spread in all directions, but are ticking over fairly well in a pot for now.

  Some useful equipment

I bought this water manifold in either ALDI or Lidl a few months ago, today I set it up in the poly tunnel, I had to adapt the water inlet connector as it had a threaded connection to go directly on a tap. My tap is outside so I took a fitting off an old hose sprayer and fitted it in reverse and was able to use the quick release fitting.

Thought it worth sharing with my friends

Do we have a Chicken board that’s hiding from me?
Posted by: Neffa - 23-05-2020, 05:14 PM - Replies (8)

OK we have had ex bat chickens before but we (and I really me I) have decided that 3-4 girls would be a really good plan.
I need some help and advice so I can either buy a house and run or bully my friend (who is very creative, practical and has loads of wood - think hoarder) into building me something to fit the place I’ve decided is right.
