The long tailed tits have been flying up to the top of the patio doors and pecking something that's living there. Not sure what it is but it looks cobwebby.
Its quite entertaining watching them hovering against the glass - seeing their undersides for a change.
Apparently the birds collect spiders web and cocoons for their nest material. This article is fascinating. So much I didn't know about long tailed tits.

Brilliant article. We had a long tail nest one year in the cotoneaster archway leading to the top garden. Not an ideal spot as we couldn't avoid it.
Gardening is an excuse not to do housework

Just across the road in the common grazing area/ bog. I can hear a grasshopper warbler. Still not spotted the little fella yet.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.
