I do admit to following an FB page Gardd Darna about a couple who have a One Planet Development in Pembrokeshire. They bought 6 acres, 5 years ago and have built their own house on it. The wife is from the Philippines and is incredibly industrious on their land as well as working for the NHS. She does a lot of canning so as not to waste anything they grow and rear, including poultry and sheep. She cooks when there is enough solar power or on a wood stove as they are 100% off-grid. I remember she acquired a lot of YS cream once and turned it into butter but I don't think she would buy a gallon of milk in order to dry it.
Whenever I read her posts it makes me feel very lazy - sometimes so lazy that I stand up and do something useful!
