My gooseberries (in containers currently) have leaves that are opening now, as do the existing garden plants that I believe to be raspberries and a blackcurrant.

If you rub a blaclcurrant leaf it smells of blackcurrants. Red & white currants don't!

Yep, that's why I'm thinking it's a blackcurrant! I pruned it a while back and it smelled great Smile

Its not "pruning", its taking cuttings. Wink Unless it really old wood, most of the prunings/cuttings will grow into new bushes.
I noticed a peach "cutting" that I poked in the hedge a couple of years ago has a flower. Big Grin

Quote: I have flowers on 2 (out of 3) peach trees, Stella cherry tree, Quince buds but not fully open. Most of the pears have buds but no sign of petals yet.
Nothing much happening on the apples or plums.
Buds on some raspberries and blueberries (19/3/22)

Much the same  this year. This is one of the peach trees. Stella cherry tree ( in the background) is covered in blossom but it might as well be an ornamental cherry as the birds always beat me to the fruit.

Always amazes me how mild your climate is, no blossom on my Stella at all yet.

I've cut down 3 large plum trees as they were suckering at the base and the few plums they had were diseased. Still have a few small trees that haven't flowered/fruited yet so they've been reprieved for now.
