Lots of daffodils flowering or about to flower. Telling the snowdrops which are past their best to move over as it's their turn now.

Ked kites are proliferating, but the downside is that they are displacing the buzzards. Yesterday saw two kites soaring overhead only to be joined by another. This morning saw one fly over low down with twigs in its talons. I think they have been looking at nesting sites in some large trees about two doors away.
Gardening is an excuse not to do housework

I bought a Buck Trail Black Hawk American Flatbow today and a dozen carbon fibre wood effect, feather fletched arrows to go with it! Cool It's a 40 lb draw weight

I have been practicing with a 26 lb draw weight  bow so it will take a bit of left handed strength to utilise it to  it's full potential. Cry I had a few shots with it in the garden and seemed to manage it ok! Smile

My 4 Beth alpha cucumbers survived being potted on Smile
They do try their hardest to flop over and die.

Took the tortoise out of hibernation. It's always a relief when she gets through it successfully. Now happily bathed, fed and basking under her sun lamp.

I think (fingers crossed) I have saved myself a bob or two on a new lawnmower by fixing my old Honda lawnmower. I dropped the stale petrol out of tank and replaced with new. I did a basic clean of carb and fitted new spark plug. The plug I have fitted is supposedly the right one for this model but is completely different from the one that was in. even a differnt socket size?

Never the less, I've fired it up and ran it for about 10 minutes and it seems ok? I will find out for definite the next time it is dry enough to cut the lawn! Rolleyes
