Not yet, that's tonight's challenge. All the recipes for fennel gratin use cream, which I haven't got, so it might be cheesy topped fennel or fennel in a cheese sauce. Tasted it raw and thought it was a bit too aniseedy for me, but could grow on me, but blanched and braised/gratineed might be fine. I've got 2 bulbs, might save one for risotto. Oh these decisions!

Fennel is in the oven, I boiled the tough tops a little longer to taste 'au naturel' - a bit like braised celery and quite pleasant. So that's a thumbs upfrom me, but celery is a lot cheaper if you're buying.
