Nice and sunny with no rain forecast for a week - good. But frost forecast for a few nights now so covering courgettes.

We're having a beautiful September too. It's nice and warmer than it was in August. It was positively boiling in the polytunnels when we've been adding the finishing touches (i.e. securing the frame and the plastic to the concrete and adding a heavy wooden frame at the bottom). At my next day off, I'm moving some plants in there, like the squash and tomatoes to see if they'll go on in there for a little while.

Heavy frost this morning. Jumper on for first time but sticking with shorts for the time being?

Sunny and really quite nice for a change. GH down to 7.3 last night. Better start picking the remaining tomatoes before they become icelollies.

GHs were a variation on 2 or 3 degrees, although nothing got touched. Locally a weather reporting station said 0.2. The forecast is for even lower tonight. You see the frost will come, turn everything to mush, then be scorching for the next fortnight.   It's being so cheerful keeps me going. Big Grin

It was 4c in my GH overnight so not to bad but frosty only half a mile down the road though.

Rest of the day its been sunny and warm so long as you keep out of the shade. Step into the shade then it feels like you need a coat, scarf and gloves.

I forgot to close one of the gh and it went down to 0.8. Whilst we may have had a frost, I dint see it and so far nothing is showing signs of being touched. Luckily that's the last of the cold nights for a bit. Cloudy with sunny spells today. A bit chilly on the feet when I went outside in flip-flops (silly me).
