Potted on some toms and labelled them as mine or giveaways. Now I have to find room to put them all away for the night as we're forecast 5° or 6° which means we'll have 3° or 4° or less. Set some sweetcorn to chit in the airing cupboard. Planted out elephant garlic fro pots into the ground, now that P's dug it over. Made a barrowload of potting compost. Much humming and hah'ing over which toms to keep/giveaway/put outside eventually. Shuffled stuff from the cold frame to hardstanding to make room for more tender stuff to go in the frame. Ditto between heated and unheated gh.

Planted a couple more tomatoes, just a few left now. I'm not growing as many toms this year although I have some very healthy plants that have grown from tomatoes in last year's compost. I may have to give them a chance outdoors - it would be ungrateful to put them back in the compost bin. BTW, whatever they say about the heat in a hotbin, its not enough to cook tomato seeds.

Went to the plot alone. Put together an obelisk and a garden arch. Did a bit of watering. Pretty chilly today and not much motivation.

Put two long planters in front of some 30ltr pots in the GH and planted one with DFB seedlings. I'll probably put salad leaves in the other one. All part of my cunning plan to grow the attention-needy plants close to the house and waterbutts and grow the more independent crops at the far end of the garden.

Trying to downsize. Had a clearout of pans, plates, utensils and out of date (just about everything) foodstuffs in the cupboard.
Need to tackle cuttlery drawer next! I live by myself so why do I need 15 desert spoons?

Dug up buttercups, wood avens, montbretia & white comfrey.. Chopped and dropped the leaves and binned the roots and comfrey seedheads. They're really sticky and catch on the dogs' fur, I also have more than I need and don't want it spreading any further. .

Planted out Babbington leeks and passed some on to a neighbour, promised same neighboursome chives, marjoram and mint for her new herb trough - with garden health warning about mint. Planted onion sets and seedlings now that ground is clear. Tried to weed some rock hard ground. Made up more compost. Put the gh shading away (there's a surprise - not) I don’t think I'll be needing it for a bit.
