Following Mark's example, I found some old onion seeds so I brought some compost in to warm up and sowed some Bedford Champion, Ailsa Craig and Rijnsberger. They'll sit in the porch which I think stays frost free and basks in the morning sun, if there is any. P saw the small seed trays on the radiator warming and looked heavenwards, something like this
