Hacked down the Buddleia which has finished floweing. If I don't do this each year it will take over!
While I had the loppers to hand I also cut down an elder which had gown through the rhododendon and also some blackberry stems which had also tried to take over! I know rhodies are despised and teated as weeds, but the wildlife love mine and its always full of birds, probably bceause of the wild rose and blackberies growing though it fom an inpenetrable barrier to keep them safe fom cats etc?
I also chopped off a branch of a pear tree leaving a single vertical stem, similar to a dwaf apple I have near by.
