Wood pigeons cooing, wasps bussing and squirrels laughing - but none of these are irrational.

When Brits say schedule with a hard K like shkedule instead of our traditional soft shhhh sound. We are NOT American..... yet. I'm also anti the American influence of Halloween & Valentines Day, these were never a 'thing' in years gone by. My first experience of Valentines day was as a youngster of about 10 in an American school. On 14th Feb (not Feb 14) everyone in class was giving out cards to everyone else, I hadn't got a clue what was going on. I couldn't see the point then or now. We'll all be celebrating Thanksgiving next, at least i might see the point there. No offence to any individual Americans intended

One of the problems is the inconsistency in the pronouncement of English words. Like schedule and then we have school which isn't pronounced shool. In a similar vein though I dislike new words taking over from perfectly good ones like obligate instead of oblige.

"It is what it is" - obviously it is, so why bother to say it?
The Moneyless Chicken says:-
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
