I've always wanted a purple or green Cotinus (Smoke bush) but the plants are too epensive methinks? I noticed they had Cotinus seeds but even if they germinate I reckon it would be at least five yeas before I got a sizeable plant? At my age, I am not sure I would still be here in five years to enjoy the plant, so along with other tree & shrub seeds, I gave them a miss! Rolleyes Smile

Find a Cotinus somewhere and take cuttings! That would be quicker.

I tried when a neighbour was pruning a purple Cotinus about a month ago. I had various cuttings taken below a node and heel cuttings but none of them rooted! Angry

I was curious if they were doing the typical Black Friday thing of increasing prices before putting a discount on, so you don't actually save much (if any) money. The prices of the tomato seeds I bought in spring have all gone up by 10p per packet.  Angry

Thanks TMTT. I'm not surprised - don't trust any of these BF offers.

I wrote down a lot of the prices of things I wanted to look at in Black Friday sales, well in advance. Unsurprisingly very few things had actually dropped in price.

One variety is 37% more expensive than it was in 2022! It looks like their prices will keep increasing year after year now it seems more like an investment for the new owners rather than a family owned company. And where are the DT/Fothergills £1 seed sales?!?!!  Cry
