The good news - they were believed to be extinct - but they're back.

I might have one in my bathroom which I thought was dead until I picked it up and seen it's legs twitching so I put it back. It's wings were closed though so I am still unsure what type it is, but judging by it's brownish colour (I thought it was a moth!) I suppose it could be?

I don’t think I’ve seen one since I was a kid.

Whether in flight I'd ever be able to distinguish between large/small tortoiseshell, painted lady or comma, or any other orange spotty one is another matter

That’s brilliant news . It’s nice to hear a good news story for a change. unfortunately another thing I’ll probably never see.

The butterfly that was resting in my bathroom has gone now so it's either flown out the window or is hiding somewhere upstairs? I guess I will never see the colour of it's wings?
