Interesting article constantly being updated with the latest photos.
I'm onto a loser here as I can't see a Northern horizon from the house - and I'm not going for a drive on the off chance that I'll see some lights. Also, I hadn't realised that the bright colours appear when you look through a camera lens as opposed to the naked eye. I'll enjoy other people's (especially Bob's) photos instead.

It's to do with solar flares on the sun I think. I have an app that tells me when the chances are good.. it's called AuroraWatch UK
