Mushrooms - Small chilli - 10-08-2023

Our friends were delayed arriving today. So while we waited we went mushroom foraging. We found a couple of ceps. Still quite early in the season for them. And a lovely lot of chanterelles.
My first time trying ceps tonight for tea.
Chanterelle risotto for tomorrow.

I've often found mushrooms emerge in the gh border soil. Hey look like ordinary mushrooms but I'm never sure which ones are edible.

If you've used mushroom compost in the GH you may grow edible mushrooms - otherwise, its unlikely.

Not used mushroom compost but have composted mushrooms and used the resulting compost.  I err on the cautious side and leave them alone, they don't seem to bother anyone and dry up quickly.

Today’s foraging was very successful. More chanterelles & ceps. One cep is a monster!
