Wild Mull - Small chilli - 21-09-2021 Must be honest I’ve only looked at the picture in this book. Of which there are some absolute stunners. We have a pre release copy because Bob has one of his photos in it. https://pelagicpublishing.com/products/wild-mull RE: Wild Mull - Veggie - 21-09-2021 When I read the thread title I thought it was about hot spiced wine - not about the wild people (and wildlife) that live on your island. Which is Bob's photo?.............and can I have his autograph? ![]() RE: Wild Mull - Small chilli - 21-09-2021 The photo of the adder is his. We don’t mind people turning up to watch otters. The wildlife is what runs most of our economy. We do mind when it’s not done in a respectful manner. Which unfortunately is becoming more frequent. RE: Wild Mull - Scarlet - 23-02-2022 A few years ago, early in the morning I spotted an otter in the garden! I was so excited ![]() RE: Wild Mull - Jay - 24-02-2022 Watched Winter Watch on BBC this year which came partly from Mull, the wildlife and the Island itself were stunning!! I’ve only been once and that was en route to Iona so didn’t get to spend any time on the island unfortunately. My aunts granddaughter’s other grandparents live on the island. RE: Wild Mull - Veggie - 20-09-2025 One for SC. Have you heard of the book "The Salt Path" about a couple who lose their home and, having nowhere to live, decide to walk around the South West Coast path (Devon & Cornwall). The book has been made into a film. After writing this book, the wife writes two more books, about their life after the walk. I've been given the 3 books, have read "The Salt Path" and am in the middle of the second book, "The Wild Silence" which recalls episodes from the couple's early life - when they did a lot of walking and camping. In their twenties, they decided to visit Iona and, on the way, camped at Lochbuie on the shoreline. They were woken by the unearthly noise of a stag baying. Normally, unless I've been to a place myself, these descriptions mean very little, but, having seen your photos, I have a much better idea of where they were. Thank you. ![]() RE: Wild Mull - Small chilli - 21-09-2025 (20-09-2025, 08:32 PM)Veggie Wrote: One for SC. The lady I help with the change overs and work for in the cafe was telling me about it a couple of weeks ago. She also highly recommended it. As a very interesting read. I didn’t know about them visiting here before their lives went sideways. |
