I might have enough wayward JJ for half a row and I'm dithering (no change there, then) about what to put in the other row, autumn or new more modern disease and aphid resistant summer canes. All will be resolved by the time bareroots are available, I hope.

Fo some eason the row of raspberries I planted have done nothing? The only decent crop I have had is from single plants that have popped up neaby

I don’t know what breed mine are, they were 3 single plants bought in Aldi or Lidl, and I just cut them back each year and dig up the runners and replant the good ones into my raspberry hedge. Mine fruits in June mainly continues into July. Now there are no fruit but lots of new leaf growth. I must consider planting some late varieties. I did hear from someone previously about those yellow or gold raspberries and was told the taste and berry structure was very poor so I didn’t pursue.

Mine are the same. They don't seem to like where they were put and much prefer coming up in the middle of red /back currant bushes and one has even made for the nearby polytunnel which has been giving me enough lately to eat on scones or with ice cream. I think they exhaust the soil of nutrients they need (the nettles still seem happy there) and move. Just my thoughts.

No, not noticed that, mine just shrivel and die. One or two have moved south, but then again one or two have moved west. Agreed that none move north.
