RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - Small chilli - 05-03-2025 Salmon & broccoli pasta in a creamy pesto & lemon sauce. RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - Veggie - 05-03-2025 B. Porridge & lemon curd yogurt L. Salmon paste sandwiches with lots of salad leaves. D. I used up some languishing vegetables to make a vegetable chilli - a courgette, leek, red pepper, tin of tomatoes and red beans in a chilli sauce. All FREE except the salmon paste. RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - SarrissUK - 05-03-2025 Freezer pizza with home made chips and mangoraya sauce for tea tonight. I couldn't be bothered cooking proper food, so a quick meal and pretty tasty too actually. In the last couple of weeks I have managed to make butter though - really tasty on toast! I have baked bread too, and it's heavenly, although it gives me heartburn lol

I seem to remember experimenting with making butter in my younger days and using ridged paddles to form butter pats. I think I came to the conclusion that going to the shops to buy it was a lot easier

I am now sitting down to BBQ sauages with olives & Chilli/Ginger coleslaw. Ive never had it before & it tastes a bit like Kimchi? RE: 2025 - Today's Recipe - SarrissUK - 07-03-2025 (06-03-2025, 10:05 AM)JJB Wrote:It was a cool experiment! I used the kitchen aid, as I had so much cream, and it took probably a good ten minutes before it split out into butter solids and butter milk. You then have to rinse it out - squeeze it in a bowl of water so you get all the butter milk out. Yes, it's a bit faffy. I like really salty butter and could add as much as I like, and it tastes amazing. It goes very hard in the fridge though, so next time I'll add the extra step of mixing in oil, to make it more spreadable.(05-03-2025, 09:21 PM)SarrissUK Wrote: Freezer pizza with home made chips and mangoraya sauce for tea tonight.
