RE: 2025 - Freecycle and similar Free stuff - Veggie - 06-12-2025 A little old lady (about my age and size) talked me through it, as she was ahead of me in the queue! You have to Activate the vouchers that you want to use before checkout, then open the Lidl "QR" code on your phone and hold it against the scanner at checkout. One tip I already knew is to only buy one "vegetable" or "bread" at a time as it discounts the cheapest "veg" or "bread" at checkout. If you need more than one, put them through as a separate shop. RE: 2025 - Freecycle and similar Free stuff - Small chilli - 06-12-2025 More than one Lidl and without a ferry journey. You’re just showing off now!
RE: 2025 - Freecycle and similar Free stuff - Veggie - 06-12-2025 I'd prefer to live near the sea, than Lidl.
RE: 2025 - Freecycle and similar Free stuff - Bren - 07-12-2025 No Lidl near us either but we do have Aldi, Iceland and a Tesco within a 10 min walk. I rarely use Tesco the stores to big and crowded. RE: 2025 - Freecycle and similar Free stuff - Vinny - 07-12-2025 I always head for the corner in Lidl that has all the 'weird' foreign food. I like to expeiment. You’re just showing off now!I've just realised that, when I said put some extra stuff through as a "separate shop" you may have thought I meant another Lidl store, when I actually meant to pay for one lot, then pay for the second lot afterwards. Hope that's clear. Since we're comparing distances for shopping, within a 10 minute walk is the corner shop, and, in another direction, the Spar/PO and the chemist. I rarely walk to any of these if I'm shopping for anything heavy as its uphill all the way home. In the car, however, I'm within easy reach of Morrisons, Lidl & Aldi. A few minutes more in another direction is Sainsburys or Asda. Tesco is further away. I rarely go to any of these 3. Too big and impersonal for me. RE: 2025 - Freecycle and similar Free stuff - Veggie - 08-12-2025 Went to one of my regulars today. She sends a photo of whatever she's giving away and, I have to admit, it wasn't very tempting. However, if I refuse it, she may find another regular instead. Collected corn on the cob and green beans, small tubs of yogurt and rice pudding.......plus a few unexpected extras! Two tubs of instant lemon tea, crisps, Milk chocolate rice cakes and an Easter Egg.

RE: 2025 - Freecycle and similar Free stuff - Veggie - 09-12-2025 The Prawn Lady is busy setting up craft fairs and making things to sell at them. Don't think she has the GoPuff deliveries now, Luckily, I still have some frozen prawns! Two of my other "regulars" moved house last year - they were good "suppliers" too. I miss them all.
