RE: 2026 - What's made you Happy today - Small chilli - 04-02-2026 First Camellia is starting to open. First time this one has flowered since I brought it 2 years ago. RE: 2026 - What's made you Happy today - toomanytommytoes - 04-02-2026 Late last week, so not today, but the council planted some trees on our road at last. The rowan that had been there had to be cut down a few years ago because it was leaning quite heavily. I thought they were going to replant immediately, but they paved it over instead. We now have a Amelanchier/shadbush/shadwood/shadblow/serviceberry/sarvisberry/juneberry/saskatoon/sugarplum/wild-plum/chuckley pear on the pavement outside. Nice choice - you may get some fruit as a bonus.

RE: 2026 - What's made you Happy today - Veggie - 05-02-2026 Yellow catkins on the hazels, waving their little tails in the breeze and glowing like a ray of sunshine............this was yesterday, of course. Poor little catkins are dangling, damp and dripping today............but they'll shake it all off and be back to brighten my garden soon. Let's hear it for the catkins and anyone called Hazel.

Mine too, although a new variety from ebay (always a gamble) hasn't popped, whereas perhaps a dozen others have. I'll try some more Lucid Gem in a pot by themselves and cosset them more than I have with the first lot to see if it's the whole packet. I feel a letter coming on. RE: 2026 - What's made you Happy today - Vinny - 27-02-2026 The sight of that big orangy/yellow thing in the sky gladdens my heart!
