RE: The build - Small chilli - 15-03-2026 Built a shelf/ platform over a couple of the MVHR pipes in the attic. In the space just behind the loft hatch opening. This is where Christmas lives now. I’ve started filling it up. RE: The build - Small chilli - 16-03-2026 Horrible wet day. So I’ve turned some of my virtual shopping into actual shopping. And ordered the rest of the lights we need for the house. Also moved lots of things around in the house so another couple of rooms are clear for when the plasterer reappears. RE: The build - Small chilli - 17-03-2026 Just a little pre warning. The build is getting very close (well it would be if anyone turned up! Sorry. This is not going to turn into a rant! ) to the stage when photos will be stopping. You will all still be getting bored silly with the remaining build progress. Just not visually. You will however get a full guided tour when it’s all finished via a video. You’ll still be getting a few photos of the rest of the plastering, instillation of the fuse box and anything I do of note in the garden. RE: The build - Veggie - 17-03-2026 We'll never be bored with The Build - we've been with you from the beginning and we want to be there to the end. Its been fascinating and eye-opening. Can we come to the house warming party please? RE: The build - Small chilli - 17-03-2026 (17-03-2026, 11:09 AM)Veggie Wrote: We'll never be bored with The Build - we've been with you from the beginning and we want to be there to the end. Its been fascinating and eye-opening.Of course you can, you’re all on the VIP list. As you said you’ve been with me every step of the way. It’s not going to be the usual sort of house warming party. I’ve decided to have lot of small dinner parties ( so I can use my new kitchen more ) . So it’ll be a dedicated G & G house warming dinner party .
RE: The build - Veggie - 17-03-2026 I honestly wish that I could be there in person - but, since you're just a bit too far away to pop in, I'll be there with you in spirit. I'm excited already. RE: The build - JJB - 18-03-2026 The thought of seeing it in a 'finished' state (no home is really finished) is an exciting thought. I'll be there in spirit too. You never know, P might decide to book a coach trip to Mull and pop in somehow! There's a frightening thought. To finally being able to put your own touches to rooms must be ever so satisfying. We'll be here till the end, pictures or no pictures.
RE: The build - Bren - 18-03-2026 I do love this thread and looking at how many views its had there's a lot of other who think the same. RE: The build - Small chilli - 06-04-2026 Our plaster came back We have a plastered vaulted ceiling and wall in the living room. He’s coming back tomorrow ![]() [attachment=8789] [attachment=8790] RE: The build - Small chilli - 08-04-2026 Another 2 walls done in the living room. He didn’t get as much done as he wanted. But he did considerably more than we expected of him today. As his daughter had been taken to hospital. She’ll be fine. Nothing to serious. |
