RE: The build - Small chilli - 19-01-2026

Another busy day with very little to show for it. The 3 rooms that have been boarded are now all screwed up and taped. Barry ( the air source man ) has been busy collecting some of the pipes together that he fitted on Friday.

I love colours and having grown up in the tropics really miss the vibrancy of the colours there but I've been conditioned by staid, boring P for too many years and lack the confidence to experiment, so I end up with staid, boring decorations. It was a nightmare just chosing the colour for the living room repaint. My indecisiveness and his lack of adventure made life very stressful. I'm sure P would love minimalistic boring, beige everything.   Rolleyes Anything for an easy life.

What colour did you go with for your living room?

Lots more happened today a lot of the living room has been boarded. Not bad for just an afternoon’s work. [attachment=8643] .
Barry has made things look very complicated and industrial in the plant room/ cupboard.   [attachment=8644] I didn’t think I liked the industrial look. But I kinda do. Mostly because it’s ours I think.

Wow! That's complicated pipe work. Its like one of those puzzles where you have to find your way from A to B without touching C.

Pale and boringly conservative.  It was called  Ghostly from the Albany range and basically a pale green/yellow colour. If I had the courage (and support from P) I'd have gone for an accent wall in a deeper green but it wasn't to be.

That is some really great workmanship. Quite an artwork.

Yeah he’s very good. We see his finished work in a friend’s new build. We decided then and there we didn’t want anyone else.

Only a small amount of plasterboard progress today. As it was just Bob and only for the morning. So he finished the little bits between wall and ceiling in the living room [attachment=8646]
More progress in the plant room / cupboard we now have a control panel and switches [attachment=8647]
