RE: The build - Veggie - 27-10-2025 I had to Google that for myself, as I'm clueless about where places are in Scotland........but I'm learning! RE: The build - Small chilli - 07-11-2025 Early Monday morning Bob left on his journey to Preston to collect the sound proofing insulation. He got home on the first ferry Tuesday morning. We unloaded it into the porch. [attachment=8557] . 37 bales do fit in there. Just. Today our first 2 wall have sound proofing [attachment=8558] [attachment=8559] RE: The build - Veggie - 07-11-2025 More progress!! I hope Bob likes driving as he's doing a lot of it lately. RE: The build - JJB - 07-11-2025 Another step forward. Fine pics. RE: The build - JJB - 08-11-2025 Soundproofing? I can see it will also afford insulation, but are you anticipating wild parties and annoying the neighbours, or is it to drown out the sound of the sheep?
RE: The build - Veggie - 08-11-2025 It maybe between rooms to drown out the sounds of snoring from the rest of the house! RE: The build - Small chilli - 08-11-2025 As ever Veggie has pretty much hit the nail on the head. . The house has to have sound proofing to stop noise carrying from room to room. Also in the ceiling to stop noise carrying. As with all Elements of building these rules and regs. In this case it’s a minimum amount of sound proofing you have to put into your building. We have tripled ours. That’s me assuming the numbers equate equally as they do in numerical terms. Big assumption on my part! RE: The build - Small chilli - 10-11-2025 I did some more sound proofing today. It’s a job I don’t need Bob for . So I’m very happy to plod along by myself. Nearly finished all the 75mm stuff in the walls. Just a few sections that have wires or plumbing. So I’ve not done those bits yet. The rest of the 75mm goes in the ceiling cavity. Move on the 50mm stuff in the rest of the walls now they’re a different wall make up. [attachment=8561] [attachment=8562] [attachment=8563] RE: The build - Vinny - 10-11-2025 Is it fibeglass or rockwool or sheep wool or summat else?
RE: The build - Small chilli - 10-11-2025 Rock wool . This stuff https://www.nationalinsulationsupplies.com/products/rockwool-rwa45-all-thicknesses?currency=GBP&variant=48562345181531&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=31e50b327145&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22676358468&gclid=CjwKCAiAt8bIBhBpEiwAzH1w6etfxQrdBo2_f5QhekB6IgdRxsc3kBt3n0DQL1rMieE_3PPPQkfeHBoCigQQAvD_BwE But not from here. |
