RE: The build - Bob - 15-09-2025 (15-09-2025, 01:11 PM)Vinny Wrote: Excuse my ignorance but do all solar panels poduce 12v electicity that needs to either be stored in a battey or bumped up to 240v (with an inveter I would imagine?) for home use or to sell back to the electicity boad? Or do home solar panels actually provide 240v?Most house systems produce 48v DC which is then converted to 240v AC by the inverter. Most house batteries like the one we're getting are about 48v dc but some manufacturers stubbornly stick to 400v dc RE: The build - Bob - 15-09-2025 It's arrived! The very sexy 16kWh battery has been delivered. At a mere 140kg I'm glad it has built in wheels Swiss army knife on top for scale [attachment=8479] RE: The build - JJB - 15-09-2025 Paul's all of a quiver with envy, thank goodness he's no closer to you, he'd be over like a shot. PS he's soaking in the bath and I had to show him the picture in there! Whatever rocks yer boat. RE: The build - Small chilli - 16-09-2025 Today we built up the ground to finished level. Just a little area where the air source will be going. Before [attachment=8480] After [attachment=8481]. We still need to build up around the outside of the shuttering. But that’s the important bit. And it shows us how much more we need to build up the rest of the driveway. RE: The build - JJB - 17-09-2025 Is the infil concrete or just chippings? Does the driveway need to reach the level of the top of the shuttering, if so thats a huge amount of building up to do. Which is what we wanted but they didn’t have ![]() |
