Is lavender considered a herb or a flower.

I have been growing lavender plants from seeds for the last few months, I want to plant them along the base of my garden fence on the outside of the fence. I ljust be the smell of lavender, and I can trim it every year with the hedge clippers.

I now have 38 plants potted in my nursery and more seeds sowed.

  Windy weather
Posted by: Vinny - 22-05-2020, 03:16 PM - Replies (6)

This has got to be the windiest year I've ever known. Confused

At present its howling down the chimney and causing mass destruction in the local area. Leaves and branches are all over the place as if autumn has come early.
Anything without any weight is being blown around the garden.

I was at the allotment earlier and was glad to get out of the greenhouse where I am sure the glass was pulsating with he wind. I am now at the point of 'sod it' let it do what it will and I will clear up the mess once it calms down. Rolleyes

How to add photos from your device
Posted by: Small chilli - 22-05-2020, 02:05 PM - Replies (10)

Go to new reply

At the bottom of the new reply page you will find new attachment. Here you choose your image ( I also have the ability to change images size here, don’t know if that’s an iPad thing or if it’s available on all devices ).

Once chosen you then click on add attachment. This will automatically bring you back up to your post. You now have to move your cursor to where you want your image. Or it will be put at the beginning of your post.

Now you click on insert into post

Done.

  Runner beans
Posted by: Mikey - 22-05-2020, 07:49 AM - Replies (5)

These are my favourite seasonal veg, I say seasonal but the freezer might disagree. I grow about 20 plants in a trench made up of winter veg peelings And topped with the first grass clippings of the year, before covering over and leaving to rest. I never move the trench, they are a permanent fixture.

I have no idea what variety I grow and neither does my father as they were his grandfathers and we’ve never grown anything different. I’ve experimented with different types in wigwams around the garden but, always saved these. I give away about 200 a year to the local gardening club to sell on as I have a lot of saved seeds generally.

They get a little black fly some years and some rust towards the end of the season but, they never let me down.

What runners do you grow?

I like a good book, and the circle of life, so a book on storing wood the Norwegian way, well what’s not to like.

There are probably alternative sources and I challenge you to hunt them out.
